ABOUT ME
Hello my name is Brett Shore and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina. I graduated from Davidson College in 2009 where I studied religion and psychology and later from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2014 where I earned my Master’s degree in counseling. I completed my graduate internship rotations at Davidson College’s Student Health Center and Forest Hill Church’s Care & Counseling Center. I later completed my residency at Forest Hill Church’s Care & Counseling Center and decided to open Shore Counseling in 2019. I take an integrative approach to counseling, tailoring my services to meet the needs of my clients. The primary frameworks I utilize are Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma and have received extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals. Shore Counseling opened in 2019 as a Professional Limited Liability Company (PLLC) to provide counseling services to the community of Davidson and greater Charlotte region. Brett Shore is the owner and currently the only practitioner at Shore Counseling.
